NATIONAL PEN is a privately-held promotional products company that manufactures and sells product internationally through direct mail, telesales, retail, distributor and web channels. We are headquartered in San Diego, with facilities in Mexico, Tennessee, Ireland and China.
Summary : In this position you will guide the development of the direct marketing customer contact strategy, focusing on campaign analysis and maximizing customer value across the mail order, telesales and E-commerce channels. In addition, you will help us better understand the lifetime value of various niches within our customer file and as a result, guide our new customer acquisition strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the NPC customer, provide guidance to others utilizing customer data and conduct ongoing segmentation and data analysis to identify profitable marketing opportunities and help develop an integrated marketing plan. • Oversee the analytical aspects of direct response program including list segmentation and preparation, controlled testing, campaign management, product and sales forecasting and analysis • Help NPC make the best possible use of data warehouse and direct marketing strategies over the long run by continually developing new ideas, communicating and coordinating potential uses for direct marketing across all channels. • Develop and monitor a set of core customer health KPIs. • Guide us to a new level of performance by utilization of all aspects of our data warehouse and helping us to tier and segment our customer file to provide each customer with a content relevant experience
Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises 3 to 5 employees in the Direct Marketing Department. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications : • At least five years of direct marketing experience required with an emphasis on direct mail • Detailed experience with advanced segmentation, controlled testing and ROI analysis • Demonstrated success managing the strategy, implementation and optimization of direct mail programs. • Strong desire to delve into the data • Very strong quantitative analysis and reasoning skills • Strong Match and Statistical Skills • SQL, Access, or any other database related software experience required
