Understand and execute the college's marketing and communications strategy, as well as review and analyze the performance of advertising and messaging strategies as needed for improvement.
Manage and organize internal and external production requests and content submissions
Write and edit content for print, web, and social media. Projects may include general marketing collateral such as advertisements, flyers, brochures, letters, speeches, etc.
Support the college's Website Manager in updating, correcting, and creating content for the college website.
Develop and cultivate relationships with local and regional media representatives, as well as regularly pitch story ideas and develop news releases.
Assist Director of Marketing and Communications and Production Manager in managing advertising campaigns for deadlines, production needs, vendor questions, and budgeting.
Actively seek out student, faculty, staff and alumni stories that support the strategic messages central to campaigns. Coordinates interviews and photo/video shoots as appropriate and prepares final content and visuals for distribution. Uses a wide range of media including email, social media, web, video and print and ensures that all media are fully utilized and coordinated with all campaigns by working closely and collaboratively with communication and marketing team members.
Produce exceptional writing, photos, graphics and short video clips that showcase the best of Durham Tech, its students, programs and progress; create original content that encourages current students, prospective students and families, alumni, employees, decision-makers and the public to connect with the college.
Stay abreast of industry developments to maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities including changes in regulations, technology, and best practices.
Assist Production Manager in editing, developing, and producing marketing collateral and digital communications campaign materials.
In collaboration with the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Media Relations Coordinator will work with the marketing team as needed to further advance the college's marketing efforts, branding continuity, and communications initiatives. The Marketing and Media Relations Coordinator also will be a liaison for the college's media and public requests, as well as develop and edit content for college publications and marketing collateral.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field. Work Experience: Three years of related work experience.
