The American College of Radiology, the leading membership and advocacy organization for the radiology profession seeks to find a highly motivated, self-directed individual who is also a creative thinker with excellent verbal and writing skills to serve as its Marketing Communications Specialist for the Society of Breast Imaging.
Marketing Communications Specialist will be responsible for the following job duties: lead initiatives to increase the visibility of the organization and develop and implement an annual, coordinated membership marketing and promotion plan for SBI programs, publications, products, and events. Must be a strong communicator, experienced networker, have excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills, and have the ability to effectively communicate the Society’s mission and value statement with both existing members and potential members. Marketing Communications Specialist requires strong administrative skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively and possess the ability to think creatively and strategically. This individual must be willing to travel.
Accountability for Marketing:
Website Management and Maintenance
Maintain and manage main Society website and microsite using DotNetNuke (content management system). Create and design webpages, manages content posted to blogs, post news stories, update and maintain all pages on both sites. Add digital elements to webpages like videos, e-books, etc., and track analytics.
Develop and implement the annual marketing plan that includes strategies for the Society’s annual meeting, membership recruitment and retention tactics and all Society educational products, events, and news.
Manages brochure development and writing marketing copy for promotional activities, works with outside vendors to ensure marketing projects are completed in a timely manner
Strong grammar skills; working knowledge of style books; copy editing; fact checking; general knowledge of how publications and media campaigns come together; general knowledge of current events, politics, culture; solid writing and proof-reading skills.
Design HTML emails that are graphically appealing and format email templates for promotions.
Develop consistent voice/messaging for email content, schedule and send, and track all promotional email analytics.
Assist in management of the email vendor, budget and the email schedule. Knowledge of NetForumPro and Informz a PLUS.
Manage society social media platforms; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. Create content and post daily, track analytics, boost advertisements, schedule content using Sprout Social and serves as the staff POC for the society Social Media Committee
Reporting and Analysis
Produce regular traffic and commerce reports from Google Analytics for measuring the effectiveness of promotional efforts on all platforms.
Accountability for Membership:
Recruitment and Retention
Create annual membership recruitment and retention plan.
Create member profiles for future member communications and outreach. Maintain committee lists within the Society database.
Maintain a working knowledge of all activities and offerings within all areas of the Society to communicate proactively with the membership.
Support the Society’s strategic goals to meet objectives and increase membership opportunities.
Lead efforts on member recruitment activities and develop and administer recognition programs to encourage and promote membership to the Society.
Work in conjunction with the Education Program Manager and PR & Communications Director on increasing opportunities and outreach.
Utilize the Society’s database to build better demographics and have better understanding of who the members are. NetForumPro knowledge a PLUS.
Ensure projects achieve the desired results and are completed in a timely manner and within budget.
Work with multiple cross-functional teams (i.e. Communications, IT, etc.) to assist with project management.
Individual must be able to effectively use a membership database to manage membership accounts. Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Requires a creative, results-oriented professional with a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience. Strong project management skills with proven ability to plan, track and perform multiple tasks, manage multiple priorities and maintain consistent attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Travel is required.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree, and at least three years of experience developing recruitment and marketing strategies to grow membership within an association; must have initiative, be creative, and be able to work independently; will also have excellent verbal, written, and strong presentation skills.
