Illinois State University, a NCAA Division I institution, invites applications for the position of Nutrition Graduate Assistant. This pre-professional, 12-month position includes a tuition waiver and a stipend of $1,200 per month. The successful applicant must meet the admission requirements for Illinois State's Graduate School. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assist with nutrition education of student-athletes; assist with all daily operations of the ISU Sports Nutrition Program, this includes scheduling of nutrition volunteers and interns; create educational power points and signs for specific needs identified by the Nutrition staff for individual student-athletes; provide one-on-one counseling for student-athletes as assigned by the Director of Sports Nutrition; participate in the ordering of supplies while monitoring and maintaining a set budget. As a part of your responsibilities, you will follow the regulations and guidelines of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Missouri Valley Conference and the Missouri Valley Football Conference, the Athletics Department and Illinois State University.
Required qualifications include: Bachelor’s Degree; eligibility for appointment per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook; graduate student at Illinois State University majoring in Nutrition and Dietetics. It is also required that candidate have previous nutrition experience with an emphasis in the collegiate setting.
Preferred qualifications include: Previous hours with ISU’s Sports Nutrition Program.
