Under general direction, the purpose of the position is to establish, develop, coordinate and implement a strategic marketing and operations plan that promotes the Village of Rantoul activities and event space to the citizenry, business community and the media. This position will successfully manage athletic program scheduling, sport league operations, venue bookings and other various tasks. Performs responsible work planning, developing, and implementing marketing strategies to promote the Rantoul Sports Complex and special events. Coordinates all marketing for the Village of Rantoul programs including paid advertising, press releases, public service announcements, etc. Coordinates and organizes the development of comprehensive strategies and approaches for marketing services and facilities, public/private partnerships, sponsorships and other revenue enhancing programs. Position is responsible for coordination of internal and external communications by authoring text and compiling content for distribution through print, email, mail, web and social media outlets; sponsorship solicitation and implementation of benefits; conducting competitive market analysis; preparing and giving presentations; and developing and evaluating performance outcomes.
Bachelor’s degree with course work emphasis in parks and recreation, marketing or business administration; supplemented by three (3) to five (5) years previous experience and/or training that includes marketing, fundraising, public relations, and presentation skills.
Requires possession of a valid State of Illinois Vehicle Operator’s License in the appropriate classification required by law.
Selected applicant will be required to live within a twenty mile radius of the corporate limits of Rantoul within six months after the completion of a six month probationary period. A post-offer drug screen will be required of the selected applicant. The operator must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license.
