The Scientific Writer/Technology Marketing Associate is responsible for developing and preparing marketing content and marketing materials for new technologies developed at the University and coordinating the marketing efforts for the University's intellectual property portfolio, ensuring a consistent approach to marketing those technologies and implementing marketing strategies. This position will write the technical content for marketing slicks and assist the licensing managers in marketing technologies and the Innovation Institute Office of Technology Management services to internal and external constituents, including education of faculty and preparation of informational brochures and materials.
The individual will also be responsible for developing technology related and content for the office website, social media, and special projects as needed, including assisting with editing office publications.
This position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a technical field (life sciences, chemistry, and/or engineering), journalism, English, or communications; Master's degree or advanced degree is desirable. At least three years' proven writing experience in a technical field is needed; familiarity/experience with biotechnology and/or engineering is essential.
Experience in social media, electronic media, and web-based communications is a plus.
