Summary of Duties: The Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine (ESFCOM) at Washington State University is a next generation, community based medical school designed to train students to be physician leaders, who innovate, adapt and discover in an ever changing healthcare landscape.
The college invites applications for a Director of Communications & Marketing.
Reporting to the Vice Dean for Administration, Accreditation & Finance, you will be a critical component of the new medical school. You will bring your leadership skills and extensive knowledge of best practices for communications and marketing in a health sciences environment to partner with communications professionals across the larger university to prepare the college for its next phase of growth.
You will be key in strategic planning and implementation of communications, public relations and marketing for the ESFCOM across its locations throughout the state of Washington. Additionally, you will provide oversight to staff engaged in executing the above.
You will be directly involved with the following functions: -Design and operationalize brand management of the college in coordination with university standards; -Provide creative direction of the college's printed and electronic communication in support of fundraising, recruitment/admissions and other college objectives; -Develop and implement the college's internal and external communication strategies; and -Work collaboratively with the Dean, Vice Deans, Senior Development Director, Recruitment and Admissions and other appropriate internal/external partners to produce communication and marketing tools. -Serve as a media contact and provide external communication as needed on behalf of the Dean.
Required Qualifications: Positions require a Bachelors degree in a relevant field and six (6) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which has included at least three (3) years of management experience. A Masters degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirements on a year-for-year basis. Education and experience can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment. Positions may require applicable licensure and/or certification.
