The Berkeley Resource Center for Online Education (BRCOE) has evolved from providing recruiting services for online programs at the university to a full service higher education marketing agency. The group offers complete lifecycle solutions from market research to digital advertising as part of its mission to find the intersection between academic access and revenue generation. As part of the larger group, the Marketing & Insights Team provides insights on new program offerings, market sizing, demographic trends, audience research and business performance.
In support of its growth goals, particularly for its primary client UC Berkeley Extension, BRCOE is seeking a Marketing Research Analyst to join the Marketing & Insights Team. The position requires the development and/or interpretation of quantitative analytical studies from a variety of data sources in support of new program development, audience research and current program tracking. The ideal candidate will assist in policy and program planning, development and administration, and monitoring, analysis, and interpretation of information regarding program performance.
Provides analyses of enrollment performance, new market data (such as market size, competitive factors, pricing, etc) and general trends in continuing higher education, working directly with all levels of managers.
Works with IT & Marketing partners to transform existing legacy data system output into actionable dashboards that support alignment across the organization.
Proposes, leads and/or participates on policy and planning committees and working groups.
Conducts post-implementation analysis to determine the need for further enhancements, finer distinctions of various programs.
Develops proposals and recommendations to guide and support a broader strategic direction for the organization.
Performs ad hoc, analytical studies on a wide variety of policies, programs and issues which are complex in nature.
Researches and drafts complex proposals, reports, briefings, executive summaries, speeches
Establishes and maintains contacts internally and with external constituents for the collection and exchange of data.
Advanced knowledge of the campus' product lines and services.
Advanced knowledge of the campus, including its achievements, mission, goals, vision, objectives and infrastructure.
Knowledge of common campus-specific and other computer application programs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff; both verbally and in writing.
Strong skills in analyzing and synthesizing large amounts of data to illuminate key insights for decision makers.
Advanced skills in building dynamic, accessible dashboards, that integrate data from multiple sources to promote alignment throughout the organization.
Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Advanced written, visual, interpersonal communication and political acumen skills.
Advanced analytical and research skills.
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
Experience with marketing database and marketing automation solutions
In-depth, knowledge of Presentation Layer software such as Tableau, Sawtooth, etc
