This position is a member of the digital marketing team that manages WfWI’s digital presence and engagement with sponsors, donors, other target audience groups, and the wider public. Increasingly more of WFWI’s grassroots marketing revenue is generated through online channels. Departments across WfWI also rely on the digital team to deliver assets that support their objectives.
The primary responsibility of this role is the maintenance of an up-to-date audience-focused digital presence for WfWI, appropriately reflecting WfWI’s mission, values, activities, and supporters. This role will follow and promote the use of WfWI’s web editorial style guidelines, including design, style and navigation, compliance, web standards, and meta data usage. This position requires a solid understanding of UX (User Experience), HTML, strong organization skills and attention to detail, including editing and proofreading skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with Marketing, Development and Communication global team and UK team to implement fundraising and marketing strategies/campaigns that generate revenue through www.womenforwomen.org; provides implementation and creative support to unit-specific initiatives as needed;
In collaboration with colleagues, drive the implementation of WfWI’s core digital marketing programs, including SEO/SEM, mobile acquisition, social media tools, and optimization testing;
Manage paid search strategy in coordination with vendor;
Implement drive-to-web traffic improvements for existing marketing & fundraising activities. Conduct annual web audit in collaboration with UK team;
Administration of content updates and web page creation on WfWI website, 3rd party fundraising sites, and crowdfunding sites, ensuring the information is consistent, up-to-date, engaging, and appropriately reflects WfWI;
Serve as lead on e-commerce campaigns and manage continued maintenance of platform;
Monitor and analyze online campaign metrics to improve performance and increase fundraising revenue. Track incoming online revenue on a regular basis and provides progress alerts to team members in an effort to adapt strategy as necessary;
Provide support to “content administrators,” promoting WfWI web style guidelines, maintain business rules and best practices for the web, and monitor the quality, consistency and conformity of content;
Serve as back-up support for global email marketing program;
Serve as liaison for online vendors;
Serve as liaison to software developer for data and other marketing requests;
Support new product launches, coordinate operational needs, and track progress;
Deliver data pulls and list requests to the direct mail program and other fundraising and communication efforts; execute data imports;
Support direct mail and email programs in proofreading and reviewing stages;
Supervise and mentor student interns in digital marketing activities;
Serve as back-up for marketing data analytics.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, computer science or related field preferred;
3-4 years of experience using a Content Management system, preferably Drupal;
Experience in SEO, Google Analytics, Google Adwords, SEO keyword analysis;
Graphic design skills and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver), HTML, and CSS;
Proven working knowledge of web page creation languages such as HTML and CSS;
Must be comfortable working independently and with a small team locally and internationally;
Must be a self-starter and well organized; ability to prioritize tasks;
A fast learner who has a passion for online marketing/fundraising that supports WfWI’s mission and core values;
Act as a champion for digital marketing best practices across the global organization;
A strong commitment to producing audience-focused and consistent high quality content to engage a range of external visitors;
Strong interest in the growth and development of internet/social media/digital with a keen eye for new technologies and emerging trends;
Experience setting and working with tight deadlines with the ability to prioritize work and handle conflicting demands;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate to a wide range of people;
Experience working on marketing campaigns with digital components;
Experience with managing projects from start to finish, including coordinating stakeholders’ roles;
Strong organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail, including editing and proofreading skills essential;
High energy level, flexible, self-motivated, and the ability to work professionally with staff at all levels of the organization, in person and remotely;
Excellent computer skills, including competency with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
A willingness for flexibility in working hours for evening and weekend work;
Non-profit experience a plus.
