The Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship in the Silberman College of Business at Fairleigh Dickinson University is accepting applications for a tenure-track position in Marketing at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank with a fall 2017 start date.
Fairleigh Dickinson, founded in 1942, is a private, coeducational university with an enrollment of more than 11,000 undergraduate and graduate students from throughout the United States and the world. The Metropolitan Campus is located 10 miles from the heart of New York City, and the College of Florham Campus is located 35 miles from New York City near historic Morristown, New Jersey. The University has overseas campuses in Wroxton, England and Vancouver, British Columbia. Silberman College is AACSB-accredited. With about 1400 students on its New Jersey campuses, Silberman College regularly partners with the NJ and NYC business community in delivering globally-oriented business education programs. The College is home to the Institute for Sustainable Enterprise and the Rothman Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Marketing or a related discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution with evidence of or potential for high quality teaching and scholarship. Professional experience in the area is preferred, but not required. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses. The normal teaching load is 9 credit hours per semester, assuming a faculty has qualified for release time for research. Summer research support opportunities are available. Our marketing curriculum emphasizes a strong foundation in the principles of marketing thinking, practice and decision-making. Experiential pedagogy is strongly encouraged. Among the classes the successful candidate will be expected to teach are marketing research, marketing strategy, principles and/or marketing management. Candidates may be expected to teach online.
